FROM THE DESK OF THE PASTOR: Today we celebrate the columniation of the Church Year: the Solemnity of Christ the King as we recognize that Jesus Christ is King, but we also know that our loving Savior shows us compassion and mercy, as He showed to the good thief.
Next Sunday we begin a new Church Year as we enter the season of Advent. Today is a good day to see that you have your Advent Wreath ready for next Sunday, as we BEGIN our preparation for Christmas.
Today and every day, we need to ask ourselves if we are in conformity with Christ and His Church. That is, are we faith to Christ and His Church. This includes being faithful to the teaching of Scripture, with Sacred Tradition, and with the Magisterium. I am grateful for the help of staff, Councils, and various Teams, including Liturgy, to assist with the work we need to do to prepare for various parish events, liturgies, and programs. Sometimes, this has meant simplifying, revising, or even correcting what we have done in the past. Some changes may not be easily accepted or understood. But each ‘change’ is done to move us into better conformity and advance us to the goals we need to create vibrant priests and deacons, vibrant parishes, and a vibrant diocese for our Ministry 2025 plan.
Please remember your parish in your will.....Your bequest is a testimony to your faith in our future. —Fr. Mark
