1. Jesus spoke many times about the "Kingdom of God" and many times using parables to describe the Kingdom of God. What is the Kingdom of God? Is it like a nation or a state or a country ruled by a president, king, or a dictator? Who belongs to this Kingdom of God? Is this Kingdom about God or is it about us or me?
2. Open Lesson 5-Handout [see DOCUMENTS under Grade 6] and locate each passage in the Bible that describes a little bit about the Kingdom of God Scripture.
a. Summarize the main idea in the story or saying in the “It’s All about God” column.
b. Under the other column for that same passage, write how someone writing from an “It’s All about Me” point of view would state the main point. [See the first example.]
3. Jesus was focused on the "It's All about God." Many people are focused on the "It's All about Me." Do you see the difference between the two view points? What can you do to help us to know the Kingdom of God is all about God?
4. Share and discuss the handout with Dad and Mom.
5. If you wish to share your findings with Fr. Mark, please send him your copy to iccherokeeff@gmail.com

For those doing at-home instruction:
1. Last week we looked at The Gospel of John, Chapter 17, when, at the Last Supper, Jesus prayed for us and how we pray for others.
2. This week we will look at what Jesus said about Prayer and look at His Prayer, The Lord's Prayer, The Our Father.
3. Jesus was an expert on Prayer. Open 'Lesson 3-Handout #1' [see DOCUMENTS under Grade 6] and read the Gospel passages listed. Write a summary statement or two about what Jesus tells us about prayer.
4. Jesus gave us His Prayer, The Lord's Prayer, the Our Father. The version we commonly pray [at Mass, with the Rosary, in private, etc.] is based on the version found in the Gospel of Matthew 6:9-13. The Gospel of Luke has a slightly different version. Can you find the chapter and verses for Luke's version? Looking at Matthew 6:9-13, open 'Lesson 3-Handout #2' to help you reflect on the Lord’s Prayer. Next to each phrase from the Lord’s Prayer, write another version of the phrase, using more current language or simply putting the words in a different way that say the same thing Jesus is saying. [For example, "Our Father"--another way to say this is "Our Daddy".] You may use Luke's version to assis you. If you wish to share your version with Fr. Mark, please send him your copy to iccherokeeff@gmail.com
5. Share and discuss the handout and your version of Jesus' prayer with Dad and Mom.

LESSON #2
1. Open your BREAK THROUGH! BIBLE* to John 17:1-26.
2. Read the account found there. This is a prayer of Jesus offered at the Last Supper.
3. Open Lesson 2-Handout** and follow the instructions to write personal intercessory prayers.
4. On page 1573 of your Bible in the "Pray It!" box a 'diamond poem' is described. Try writing your own 'diamond prayer' asking God for unity. Pray it each day for the next week. If you wish to share it with Fr. Mark, please send him your copy to iccherokeeff@gmail.com
6. Share and discuss the handout and your 'diamond prayer' this with Dad and Mom.
**See Grade 6 page for the documents.
